Frequently Asked Questions
How many poker chips do I need?
Our poker chips are sold in rolls of 25 and sets of either 300, 500 or 1000. For a simple poker game, you should aim to have at least 35 chips for every player. For more serious games or tournaments, between 50 and 100 each would be ideal. If you're hosting a game with three to four people, 300 poker chips should do the job, whereas a game for five to six players would be better served with a set of 500. Remember, it's always better to have too many than too few!
What materials are our poker chips made of?
Our chips are made of a range of different materials, which depend ultimately on the style and design of the chip. Generally speaking, our value chips are composed of ABS or an ABS/Clay composite, while our high-quality casino style poker chips are either clay composite or ceramic. Some of our heavier chips also feature a metal inner core.
What type of poker chips will best suit my needs?
It depends on the poker game you are hosting. If you're having a poker night with some friends and you don't want to spend too much money, a set of our Tri-Gen Poker Chips will do just fine. They're decent quality, look great, stack well, and they feel good in the hand. Alternatively, you can opt for Clay composite Poker chips which are similar to those used in a casino, although slightly heavier. For those seriously demanding games, or if you just want to impress your guests, we suggest investing in the casino weight ceramic poker chips, which have the quality, feel and sound of an authentic casino chip.
What's the weight of the chips?
Our poker chips weigh between 9 and 14 grams. It is common to associate quality with weight, however, this is not always the case as our top-line, casino-quality Monte Carlo Ceramic Poker Chips weigh in at just 10 grams each. Ultimately, it's all down to personal preference. You might choose a heavier set because you prefer the heft of chips, or choose a lighter ceramic set for the casino-style sound and feel.
What chip colours do you provide?
Depending on the style of poker chip you choose, you will find a myriad of different colour options available. In real casinos, chip colours are associated to cash denominations. Some of our poker chip sets also have denominations etched onto each chip, making it easy to see what value you are playing with. You may also prefer to buy blank chips in varying colours which allow you to choose the value of each chip as you please in your own games.
What else might I need for my poker nights?
As well as a good set of poker chips, we'd also advise having at least two decks of tournament-quality cards. The Playing Cards we sell are all of plastic construction, which makes them extremely resistant to wear, and of course the inevitable spillage of drinks! Serious players might also consider buying a Poker Table or Gaming Cloth for an authentic casino experience.
